Dorothy Wilding started portraiting the royal family in 1928 and would go on to produce the first image of Queen Elizabeth II for postage stamps. The final design chosen featured her in a three-quarter pose, wearing a diamond diadem, from a photograph taken on 7 January 1952. ("Dorothy Wilding: a royal photographer".
